how to plan your stay

We've tried to think of everything to make your stay with us easy!

You should bring:

• seasonal outerwear & footwear to enjoy the 95 acres of trails or a fire circle.  We have extra snow shoes!
• comfortable indoor clothes for meditation, yoga, or lounging.
• slippers or indoor footwear.  We are a no-shoes environment.
• yoga mat.  But we do have a few if you forget yours.

You do not need to bring:

• linens, towels, pillows, or blankets.
• a long distance phone card - free nationwide and Canada phone service is available to our guests.  Cell reception is spotty here in the highlands.
• bottled water.  Our well water is superb and tested annually.
• a meditation cushion or backjack.  We are well stocked.
• yoga blocks or straps. We have your yoga support.

The Bookstore
Spirit Fire has a wonderful little bookstore with not only books, but items from local artists or imported from around the world.  Forgot your toothbrush? earplugs? Not to worry, we have travel items in the bookstore as well.  

Our Wonderful Staff
An "appreciation bowl" will be put out toward the end of your retreat, should you be so inclined.

how to find us

​For those driving, directions from points south, north, and east are provided for download. We recommend you print these out and use them over internet generated or GPS generated directions. Mapquest and Google Maps tend to deliver you to us in a very round-about way. But don't worry, you'll find us!

Arriving by bus, train or plane?

​For those not driving, bus routes are available from neighboring cities, including Boston and NYC, to Greenfield, MA. In addition, Amtrak has train service to Greenfield. This service is particularly convenient for those coming from New York City or Boston. Use the link to Amtrak to find if train service is available from your point of origin to the Greenfield, MA (GFD) station.  And whether you choose to arrive via bus or train, we are happy to provide a pickup once you arrive in Greenfield.   Amtrak.com >  

And for those needing to fly, the closest airport is Bradley International Airport (BDL) outside of Hartford, CT. It is a 75 minute drive from the center. For those needing transportation to Spirit Fire from the airport we recommend Valley Transporter.
